A Marathon Village-area property has been listed for sale for an undisclosed asking price.
According to Metro records, Ronald Smith and Sandra Smith-Graves own the five-parcel, 0.95-acre property. The main address of the site is 1406 Jo Johnston Ave., with the property sitting across the street from the city’s John Henry Hale public housing complex.
The Post reported in September 2022 that the property had been under contract to be sold and eyed for a residential building. That effort seemingly failed to materialize.
Metro records show that current ownership of the property — on which sits a vacant building that once accommodated a funeral home — seemingly dates to 1997, at which time a Smith family member paid $100,000 for it.
The marketing materials note the property is zoned to accommodate a building of up to five floors.
Marathon Village is located one block to the north, with Metro’s Watkins Park one block to the west. Of note, Marathon Village owner Barry Walker owns 1400 Jo Johnston Ave. (next to the Smiths’ property). He paid $149,000 for that 0.21-acre property in 2007, Metro records show.
The owners have enlisted Lance Bloom, principal and vice chairman of the local office of Toronto-based Colliers, to handle the marketing of the property.
